I'm Xining(Naomi) Tang, a Concert Pianist and Accompanist with a specialization in instruments. I hold a Master's from the University of Melbourne and serve as a Piano Examiner at Nanjing University of the Arts. I'm also an AMEB-certified Piano Teacher, a proud VMTA Member, and play a role in shaping the cultural landscape through the International Music and Art Guild of Australia. My journey is about fostering connections and embracing the transformative power of music across borders and disciplines.
With a rich and diverse musical journey spanning over 14 years, I have established myself as an accomplished pianist, dedicated to both teaching and captivating audiences worldwide. My expertise lies in providing exceptional piano instruction to preschoolers, primary-aged children, and adolescents. Over the years, I have had the privilege of participating in various examinations as a piano examiner and have also served as a guest accompanist.
During my time in Australia, I had the pleasure of nurturing a talented group of students, guiding them to achieve remarkable results in the AMEB Examination. Witnessing their musical growth and dedication, I take immense pride in the fact that all my students received top-notch grades, with two of them being recently awarded the prestigious AMUSA.
In 2019, one of my outstanding students secured the first prize in the 14-and-under section of prestigious piano competitions such as Hamilton Eisteddfod, Hobart Eisteddfod, and Latrobe Valley Eisteddfod.
The year 2021 brought even more accolades, with four of my students being honored with multiple First, Second, and Third prizes, as well as honorable mentions in various categories such as solo performances, composer solo showcases, and piano duets in Bendigo Eisteddfod, Boroondara Eisteddfod, Ringwood Eisteddfod, and Latrobe Valley Eisteddfod.
Furthermore, in the Golden Classical International Music Competition, my students achieved remarkable recognition, with one young talent securing the First Prize along with the Exceptional Young Talent Special Prize, and another student earning the First Prize in the 16-18 years piano solo category.
In 2022, my students continued their stellar performance, amassing an astounding 21 First Prizes, 6 Second Prizes, 8 Third Prizes, and 11 Honourable Mentions across multiple solo sections in esteemed competitions such as Bendigo Eisteddfod, Boroondara Eisteddfod, Ringwood Eisteddfod, Royal South Street Eisteddfod, Monash Youth Music Festival, Eisteddfod by the Bay, and Valley Eisteddfod.
One of my young prodigies was also recognized with the Grace Ross Memorial Prize in the most promising pianist category for 11 years and under.
In 2015, I had the honor of acting as the art-director assistant during Dr. Corinne Ness's lecture tour at the College of Music in Nanjing University of the Arts (NUA). Additionally, I served as the piano accompanist for the concert "Gather Together Tonight - Collection of Extracts of Classic Musicals" held in the Theatre of NUA in May 2015. Collaborating with musical masters from America, I also acted as the piano accompanist for a captivating musical performance.
The same year, my exceptional student's outstanding performance in the Singapore International Piano Competition earned me the title of "Excellent Guide Teacher". Notably, from 2007 to 2016, my students continuously received numerous awards in various Chinese competitions, showcasing their extraordinary talent under my guidance.
In July 2014, I was invited to be a jury member for the final of the Jiangsu region of the 8th "Golden Childhood" National Youth Art Competition. Subsequently, in August 2014, I actively participated as a piano examiner in the Piano Grade Examination at the School of Music in NUA. During the same period, I collaborated with ballet masters from Russia, serving as the piano accompanist for ballet master classes. Later in the year, I was privileged to be a jury member for the Jiangsu region of the 2014 "Realize Your Dream" National Teenager Talent Competition.
In my early career, I had the honor of serving as an examiner for the Piano Grade Examination at the School of Music in NUA in July 2013. In December 2011, I was invited as a guest accompanist for the vocal music competition at NUA.
Celebrate with me as I reflect on the enriching experiences of my participation in various events, where I had the pleasure of contributing as a pianist, examiner, and musical enthusiast.
“Naomi's teaching style is incredible. She breaks down complex techniques into easy-to-understand steps. I've seen a significant improvement in my piano skills since learning from her. Her guidance has made the learning process enjoyable and effective.”
